About the Role

Stable Sea builds infrastructure for cross-border stablecoin payments and treasury management. We're a small team and the systems we build move real money across multiple rails.

We have a gap between "a customer told us what they need" and "the change is live and it's good." Today founders and backend engineers fill that gap by context-switching. We want one person to own it.

This is a hands-on, high-agency role for someone who wants unusual surface area rather than a narrow lane.

How We Work

We move fast and keep process to a minimum. We own our work end-to-end, collaborate directly with whoever we need to, and move things forward without waiting for permission or close supervision. Async by default: written communication does the work that meetings do elsewhere.

AI is core to how we build. We provide a generous token budget because we expect people to use it seriously. Everyone on the team is actively experimenting with new tools, tuning their workflows, and thinking about what's possible today that wasn't weeks or months ago. For this role in particular, AI leverage is what makes one person able to cover design, customer work, and shipping at once.

What You'll Do

The job is roughly four equal parts.

Design and UI/UX — 25%

You design and refine the screens. The practical kind: this flow is confusing, this state is missing, this balance is displayed in a way that makes a customer think they lost a dollar. You decide what it should look like and how it should behave.

Customers — 25%

You are the interface between the engineer team and customers. You listen for what they're actually asking for underneath what they said, and come back with requirements and suggestions. Our users are finance and ops people at real businesses so you'll need to be someone they enjoy talking to and trust.

Guaranteeing Quality — 25%

You are an active user of our product. You know each flow and how it should work. You can spot bugs, gaps, and confusing UX. You proactively raise bugs, make changes yourself, and ship results as someone who can work in a React/TypeScript codebase, lean hard on AI tooling, and move fast.

Ops and follow-through — 25%

The back-and-forth. Chasing what's blocked, keeping the customer informed, confirming a shipped fix actually solved the problem, closing the loop with the team.

Running underneath all four: you own product quality. You are in the product every day, as a user. You find the bugs before customers do. You hold the bar for what "finished" means here. If something looks wrong in Stable Sea, it's yours.

Who We're Looking For

  • 2–4 years of experience across some blend of product, design, solutions engineering, or frontend. We care far more about the blend than the label on your last title.
  • You can ship code with Claude and Codex.
  • You have taste. You can look at a screen, say what's wrong with it, and then fix it.
  • You're good with customers. Comfortable on a call with a CFO or an ops lead, asking the second and third question instead of just taking notes.
  • You close loops without being asked. Small team, nobody chasing you.
  • Strong written communicator: requirements, bug reports, customer follow-ups.
  • You use AI tools well and can demonstrate real understanding of what you've built with them.

Nice to Have

  • A capital markets or asset management background. If you've worked around money market funds, treasury workflows, or institutional cash management portals — and you know where those portals are bad and why — that's the highest-signal thing on your résumé for us. We'd rather hire someone who already knows that world than teach it.
  • Prior early-stage experience, or a clear reason to believe you'd like it.
  • Crypto or stablecoin exposure. Genuinely optional — most of our customers have none either, and we'd take capital markets depth over crypto fluency every time.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary + meaningful early-stage equity.
  • Real ownership of the product surface customers actually touch.
  • Direct access to founders, and to institutional partners you'd normally never be in a room with.
  • Health, dental, and vision.
  • No grind culture.
  • Remote, US, async-first.
